FAQs about hotels in Manchester

The Capital of the North

With an industrial past and a modern outlook, the complex fabric of Manchester is interlaced with interesting museums, English pubs and shopping centres.

Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

Manchester wouldn’t be the same without its 2 famous football clubs and fans can go wild at either of the Old Trafford or City of Manchester Stadiums. Music fans will adore the many shows performed at the Manchester Arena, the largest of its type in Europe, and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

Manchester does not have enough green space in the centre!

Manchester does not have enough green space in the centre! (I stayed in Piccadilly).it doesn't have an 'old town' per se, either. I don't really understand the city planning that went into this place. The Manchester Museum was a bit of a bust, but the People's Museum of Manchester was outstanding. I wouldn't go out of my way to travel to Manchester again.

Manchester is the city for one or two days.

Manchester is the city for one or two days. The best is good train connection to other more attractive towns (York, Nottingham, Chester, Liverpool for example) as well as a good start place to continue to North Wales, Isle of Man or Lake District. In such case of short one day trips you can spend in Manchester more than one week.

Kevin, the Manager was very helpful and friendly with a cheery disposition. We had some great conversation with him regarding our shared passion for travel. Piccadilli Central Hotel has a nice personal feel which comes as a refreshing change when compared with the more corporate establishments that abound in Manchester City centre. You are really treated as a genuine guest here. Rooms are well decorated and offer outstanding value for money compared to other establishments nearby. Thank you, Kevin from Janet and Roy.

Extremely modern hotel, looks fabulous and has everything you need for a nights stay in Manchester. In a brilliant location - city centre and very close to attractions. The rooms are quaint, high tech and amenities, such as Netflix on the TVs, are nice additions. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous - probably one of the best breakfast spreads I’ve ever had that catered well to vegan and veggie options. Front-of-house staff were talkative and friendly. I hardly have any faults!

The hotel is great! All Hampton by Hilton hotels have very high standards of food, service and comfort, so you will not do a mistake by choosing them where ever they have hotel. The Manchester Hampton by Hilton is great, 15 min walk from city center, but if you don't want to walk, there is a bus station right across the hotel. The breakfast is great, especially the English breakfast :) I sincerely recommend it to anyone who goes to visit Manchester.

The room had great facilities, was clean and had loads of available sockets. Good amount of parking and a separate entrance for hotel guests from the entrance once you checked in. Be mindful if you are checking in at a peak dinner time that you have to walk through the restaurant to check in, we were not well dressed. Otherwise it's only a ten min walk to the station and a ten min train into Manchester Piccadilly. I'd stay here again 👍

Great hotel with a car park attached which was very convenient given the proximity to Manchester - most hotels don’t have car parks in the city centre. Booked a room with no windows (best value) but when we checked in they had put us in a large room with windows. Really clean and comfortable, gorgeous bathroom, great value for money. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

A beautiful new hotel in an excellent location. Only a 10-minute walk to Manchester United's famous Old Trafford stadium. Just 10 minutes by taxi to the city centre with its many restaurants and pubs. The cricket stadium is right next to the hotel.
